This policy explains what information the mobile game OFF CAMERA ("the Game") collects, why, and what choices you have. OFF CAMERA is published by BigInt Games ("we", "us"). The Game is a work of fiction: every person, chat and clip in it is invented.
| Data | Why | Who processes it |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous player id (Firebase Authentication, created on first launch) | To back up your progress and to restore it if you contact support | Google Firebase Authentication |
| Story progress: the episode and scene you are at, the choices you made, trust and relationship values, puzzle results, your character name, your charge balance and settings | So your progress survives reinstalling the app and can be moved to a new phone by support | Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore); your device |
Support ID (a short code such as OC-XXXX-XXXX, shown in Settings) | Identifies your save to our support team when you email us. It contains no personal information | Derived on your device |
| Gameplay events (for example an episode started or finished, a puzzle solved, a hint used), device model, OS version, app version, language, country of the app store | To understand, in aggregate, how the Game is played and to fix problems. Never tied to you as a person | Google Firebase Analytics |
Push notification token and the language topic you joined (such as lang_en), and whether you allowed notifications | To tell you when a new episode is out, in your language. Notifications are only enabled by your tap on "Notify me" and can be withdrawn in your system settings | Google Firebase Cloud Messaging |
| Photos you add to MY GALLERY | A feature of the in-game phone | Stored on your device only; never uploaded and not part of the backup |
| Advertising identifier, coarse region from the IP address, ad diagnostics | To serve and measure the optional rewarded videos (section 3) | Google AdMob |
| Purchase records (which in-app product was bought) | To deliver and restore purchases (section 3b) | Google Play · Apple App Store · Google Firebase (the record with your save) |
Episodes after the first are downloaded from our servers (Firebase Hosting) when you reach them. A download sends your device's IP address to Google, as any internet request does; we do not store it.
The Game shows ads served by Google AdMob: rewarded videos only, which you choose to watch for in-game charges. No ad appears on its own, and no ad interrupts the story. Where AdMob is present it may use your device's advertising identifier and a coarse region derived from your IP address to serve and measure ads; in the EEA, UK and Switzerland Google's consent form appears first, and you can decline and still play everything. See Google's Advertising Privacy Policy.
Optional in-app purchases (charge packs, the Story Pass, the cosmetics bundle) are processed by Google Play or the App Store. We never see your payment details. A record of which products you bought is stored with your anonymous save so purchases can be restored after a reinstall, and store purchases can always be restored through the store's own Restore mechanism.
The Game never shows the system notification prompt on its own; it appears only after you tap "Notify me" on an episode card. If you allow it, we send a message when a new episode is available. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.
OFF CAMERA is a mystery story for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Progress stays on your device until you uninstall the Game. The cloud backup is kept under your anonymous player id for as long as you play, and for 24 months after your last session. To delete it earlier, email us the Support ID shown in Settings and we will erase the backup and the player id within 30 days. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form only.
Your save is tied to an anonymous identity created on your device. Uninstalling the Game, clearing its storage, a factory reset or a new phone can start a new player. Before switching devices, note your Support ID (Settings) and email us; we can move the save for you.
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to processing. Write to support@bigintgames.com with your Support ID and we will respond within 30 days.
We will update this page when the Game's data practices change and update the date above.
